Staja za domače živali je zasnovana kot manjša lesena »hišica«, sestavljena iz dveh oblikovno enotnih, med seboj simetričnih polovic. Zaprti, hlevski del, predstavljajo trije sklopi: prostor za zajce (zajčniki), hlev za pritlikavi kozi ter kurnik. Zunanji, zamrežen prostor, služi kot povezovalni hodnik med vsemi tremi sklopi in obenem predstavlja varovano zunanjo površino za prosto gibanje živali. V podstrešnem delu je prostor za spravilo sena, za zajčniki pa omara za spravilo orodja. Preprosta zasnova staje omogoča enostavno prilagoditev glede na vrsto in število živali.
