Gradnja Doma za bivanje na Regentovi ulici je načrtovana na prostorsko precej zahtevnem zemljišču z nepravilno obliko. Zato je bilo ključnega pomena zasnovati stavbo na način, ki bi omogočal čim boljše razmerje med zelenim in grajenim. Torej zagotoviti veliko zelenih površin, ki bi služile kot dvorišče prebivalcem. Z dolgo in plitko zasnovo, kjer ožja stranica gleda proti jugu, se minimalizira vpliv hrupa prometa.

V domu se programsko stikajo trije sklopi: dom za starejše (1) s tremi enotami, ki je ločen od drugega sklopa oskrbovanih stanovanj (2) in skupni prostori (3). Oblikovanje objekta sledi programski zasnovi - zasnovan je kot dva volumna (dom in stanovanja) ki ju povezuje oz. objema mehkejši plašč skupnih prostorov. Skupni sprostori se začnejo z zamikom v pritličju - nadstreškom nad vhodom - in končajo z zamikom v zadnji etaži - strešno teraso. Objekt je na vzhodni strani poravnan z parcelno mejo oz. ulico, na dvoriščni strani pa je je členjen in usmerjen bolj proti zunanjim površinam.
